Compass Points - Many thanks!
Readers make Compass Points a success.

Many news sources are reporting that over the last four years annual traffic to the Washington Post web site has fallen from 139 million to only 60 million today and the site is losing $100 million a year. While Compass Points is considerably smaller than the Washington Post, unlike the Washington Post, Compass Points is strong, healthy, and growing.
.
Compass Points was created to appeal to -- not a general audience -- but only to those with an interest in national defense and security. The purpose of Compass Points is to encourage discussion about the future direction of the Marine Corps, so the Marine Corps remains strong today and stronger tomorrow. The United States is stronger when the Marine Corps is stronger.
.
Since the very first Compass Points post on October 1, 2022, Compass Points has grown month by month. There are now well over 400 Compass Points posts. Each week's worth of posts requires input and perspective from Research, Editorial, Layout, Legal, Accounting, Membership, and Marketing. Every person on the staff, management, and board of Compass Points is a volunteer.
.
The readership of Compass Points includes thousands of readers who have signed up to receive the daily Compass Points post in their own email. In addition, most readers forward the daily Compass Points post to an email list of their friends often numbering dozens and sometimes hundreds of other readers. Those readers, in turn, then pass along the daily Compass Points post to their friends. The distribution goes on and on. Altogether, Compass Points enjoys millions of annual views.
.
Compass Points continues to grow because of the participation and encouragement from Marines, both current active duty, as well as former active duty, along with Marine family members, and a wide variety of friends of the Corps. Compass Points readers are well informed. They are independent. When it comes to issues and controversies about the Marine Corps, readers make up their own minds.
.
Compass Points is grateful to every reader for taking time during their day to read and participate in the discussion about the future of the Marine Corps. Readers have demands on their time and significant daily responsibilities. Many are various kinds of business and civic leaders -- including current members of Congress. The readers of Compass Points want what every Marine and every friend of the Corps wants: a Marine Corps that is strong today and stronger tomorrow.
.
Compass Points is in favor of a strong Marine Corps and believes a strong Marine Corps requires robust discussion, discourse, and debate. As the great religious thinker and the founder of Pennsylvania once said about debate:

In all debates, let truth be thy aim -- not victory, or an unjust interest.

Many thanks to all Compass Points readers for speaking up for a strong Marine Corps!

Hmmm...Oct 1, 1922....Does that mean each year the US Marine Corps is on the hook for two Birthday Cake Celebrations?
I was unaware that Compass Points was an all-volunteer organization. I salute Compass Points for a job exceptionally well done and a personal thank you to all the volunteers working for a better Marine Corps.
